Nuclear Safety Engineer - Q CLEARANCE REQUIRED

Responsibilities
  • Determining the appropriate USQ type (USQ Determination, USQ Screen, or USQ Categorical Exclusion) to be utilized while performing the USQ Process as required per nuclear facility, supporting NNSS facilities and activities including the Device Assembly Facility (DAF), Principal Underground Laboratory for Subcritical Experimentation (PULSE), Radioactive Waste Management Complex (RWMC), Joint Actinide Shock Physics Experimental Research (JASPER), and Onsite Transportation Safety Document (OTSD).
  • Preparing the appropriate USQ Determination, USQ Screen, or USQ Categorical Exclusion for use in the USQ Process as required per nuclear facility, supporting NNSS facilities and activities including the DAF, PULSE, RWMC, JASPER, and OTSD.
  • Reviewing completed USQ Determination, USQ Screen, or USQ Categorical Exclusion used in the USQ Process as required per nuclear facility, supporting NNSS facilities and activities including the DAF, PULSE, RWMC, JASPER, and OTSD.
  • Mentoring MSTS employees obtaining a USQ Qualification (including USQ Preparer, USQ Reviewer, and USQ Approver) to effectively support NNSS facilities and activities including the DAF, PULSE, RWMC, JASPER, and OTSD.
  • Reviewing practice USQ Determination, USQ Screen, or USQ Categorical Exclusion provided by MSTS employees during USQ Training to effectively support NNSS facilities and activities including the DAF, PULSE, RWMC, JASPER, and OTSD.
Experience and Education
  • Principal I - Bachelors with a minimum of 10 years experience
  • Principal II - Bachelors with a minimum of 13 years experience
  • Principal III - Bachelors with a minimum of 16 years experience
  • Principal IV - Bachelors with a minimum of 20 years experience
