Job summary

APTIM is seeking a Safety Professional to support the nuclear decommissioning (D&D) project in West Mifflin, PA. You will join a multi-disciplinary team focused on safety activities on site and implementing EHS policies.

Requirements include a minimum of eight years in safety and industrial hygiene, a Bachelor's degree in a related field, and knowledge of OSHA Construction standards. DOE clearance or radiological qualifications are highly regarded.

Qualifications

• Eight years of safety and industrial hygiene experience with a related Bachelor's degree.
• CSP, CIH, CHMM or equivalent certification preferred.
• Experience in construction, demolition, remediation, asbestos/lead abatement, lifting & rigging, ergonomics, noise, scaffolding, air monitoring and IH equipment.
• Prior shipyard, DOE, or Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program experience strongly preferred.
• US citizenship; ability to obtain/maintain DOE Level L clearance and radiological qualifications.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and pass radiological medical clearance.
• Overtime and travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• The Safety Professional will be responsible for the implementation of EHS policies and procedures
• Ability to interpret and apply OSHA standards
• EHS surveys and audits, maintain EHS documentation
• Collect and analyze EHS metrics
• Conduct accident investigations, participate in the safety committee.
• Provide safety field oversight of production personnel involved in radiological and RCRA D&D activities.
