Job summary

SHINE Technologies, LLC is seeking a Nuclear Safety Analysis Engineer to develop and apply nuclear safety analysis methodologies for safe operation of subcritical fission processes and accelerator technology used for medical isotopes. The role includes transient and accident analysis, dose analyses, HAZOPs, FMEAs, and ISA integration.

The position supports a hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence at least 2 days per week in Janesville, Wisconsin, and occasional travel as needed.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in Nuclear Engineering or related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Five years of experience in nuclear safety analysis.
• Demonstrated technical writing skills.
• Knowledge of 10 CFR 70 integrated safety analysis requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform system analyses of anticipated transients and postulated accidents to demonstrate safety and licensing compliance.
• Perform nuclear calculations to determine material at risk for release calculations using MCNP/SCALE.
• Perform radiological and chemical dose calculations for normal and accidental releases.
• Support ISA activities including HAZOP, FMEA, PHA, and accident sequence development.
• Review forms determining equipment credit in safety analysis.
• Maintain safety analysis documentation including dose release calculations and ISA summaries.
