Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory (INL) seeks Nuclear Facility Research Technicians for the Materials and Fuels Complex. This role covers maintenance of nuclear facility systems, handling of fuels, and work with hazardous materials across multiple facilities and shifts.

DOE L/Q clearance eligibility is required, and positions offer potential overtime depending on program needs. Opportunities include analytical chemistry lab work, gloveboxes, hot cells, and remote handling equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 4+ years relevant experience (Level 1).
• High school diploma or equivalent with 6+ years relevant experience or associate degree with 2+ years (Level 2).
• High school diploma or equivalent with 8+ years or associate degree with 4+ years (Level 3).
• High school diploma or equivalent with 10+ years or associate degree with 6+ years (Level 4).
• Nuclear Navy experience or commercial nuclear plant operator qualifications or a Bachelor of Science in a related field may apply.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance of facility systems and equipment, fuel and waste handling, processing, and treating nuclear fuel and radioactive materials.
• Operate remote handled equipment, work in hot-cells, gloveboxes, or with shielded casks.
• Assist in research experiment assembly/disassembly, material preparation using EDM, and sample preparation.
