Job summary

General Dynamics Electric Boat is seeking a Nuclear Auditor to drive quality and regulatory compliance within nuclear manufacturing, construction, and overhaul of submarines. The role involves developing audit plans, reviewing source documentation, and coordinating with management across the organization to ensure successful nuclear work execution.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• 2+ years of experience with Naval Nuclear Propulsion Program (NNPP) or Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
• Bachelor’s of Science degree in a STEM discipline preferred (Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, Chemistry, Applied Math).
• Experience in a quality oversight or regulatory role is preferred.
• Prior experience with regulatory requirements for Naval Nuclear work is preferred.
• Prior experience with ISO 9001 standards is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develops and implements audit plans to ensure compliance with government and local requirements.
• Interacts with management across the organization to drive audit findings and corrective actions.
• Tours nuclear work areas and reviews on-site processes and documentation.
• Writes and issues detailed audit reports and tracks commitments for audit responses.
• Identifies opportunities for safety, quality, and efficiency improvements.
• Communicates trends and problem area data to government representatives and management.
