Job summary

Electric Motor & Contracting Co., Inc. in Chesapeake, VA seeks a Nuclear Pump Project Manager to oversee in-shop pump repairs. You will direct project development, manage budgets and schedules, and serve as the primary customer contact. Travel to client sites may occur; radiological qualifications are required for access to restricted areas.

The role requires strong communication, safety compliance, and a background in mechanical manufacturing, with preference for nuclear-related experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in mechanical manufacturing environment.
• Familiar with manufacturing and machine shop environment.
• Must be proficient with MS Word & Excel (will be assessed during interview).
• Must be familiar with an industrial safety environment.
• Experience with pumps preferred.
• BS in Engineering or similar is preferred.
• Background in Nuclear Power Generation field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Abide by all company safety & regulatory policies at all times.
• Direct and manage project development from beginning to end.
• Serve as the main point of contact for customer correspondence related to jobs you are managing.
• Responsible for creating and managing job budget and schedule.
• Review equipment specific Technical Manuals for repair considerations.
• Generate and maintain paperwork for pump repairs.
