A leading engineering firm based in the United States is looking for an experienced professional to manage various projects, ensuring budget and schedule compliance while fostering client relationships. The ideal candidate will possess a BS in engineering with at least 10 years of relevant experience, excellent communication, and leadership skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. This role involves overseeing project scopes and facilitating internal and client interactions, ensuring successful project execution.

Job description

Position dictates applying extensive and diversified knowledge of engineeringprinciplesandpracticestothemanagementofassignedprojectswhilemaking independentdecisions.Individualwillberesponsiblefordevelopingandmaintainingclose workingrelationshipswithclienttoincludeprofessionalandsocialinteractionwithkeyhome officeandsiteindividuals.Thispositionrequiresindividualtobealiaisonbetweenclientand company.

Positionincludesidentifyingclientneedsandexpectations,includingupcomingmajorprojects andcommunicatesthoseneedstotheapplicableindividuals.Positionalsoincludesobtainingclientfeedbackregardingworkperformanceandfacilitatesimplementationofprocess improvements,asappropriate.Also,individualwillworkwithclienttoaddressandresolve issuesthatmaydeveloprelativetoprojectscopechanges,qualityofservices,cost,or schedule.

SuccessfulcandidatewillcoordinateandparticipateinthepreparationofproposalsforclientworkbyworkingwithDisciplineEngineeringManagersandAccountManagerstodevelop projectscope,approach,technicalassumptions,staffing,schedule,andpricing.

Responsibilities

Keyactivitiesaremonitoringthestatusofallon-goingprojectstoincludebudget,schedule,scopechanges,reviewofdeliverablesrelativetoscopeandclientexpectations,participationin companyweeklyschedulemeetingandpreparationofmonthlystatusreports.Theselected candidatewillensurethatcontractualrequirementsaremet,addresses,andresolves contractualissues,initiatescontractchanges,andfacilitatespaymentforservices.Candidate willberesponsibletoreview,approveandcorrect(asneeded)invoicesapplicabletoproject work.

Additionally,responsibleforunderstandingandcommunicatingtocompanystaffclient’s processesandprocedures,andfacilitatestrainingofcompanystaff,whenneeded.Individual shallhavepracticalknowledgeofroutineprecedentdesign,workingknowledgeof engineering principles for applicable solvingproblems.

Candidateshallhavetheabilitytocoordinateprojectsfromearliestphasestobudgets,design throughissuanceofconstructiondrawings,andfinalprojectcompletionclose-out.CandidateshallprepareProjectPlans,budgetsandschedulesandberesponsibletocontroltheproject scope,budget, andschedule.

Qualifications

EducationRequired(minimum):BSinengineeringorothertechnicalspecialtyfromanaccredited university with course work in mechanical, electrical, chemical, or similar technical scope is required.

Experience Required (minimum):10 years (minimum) of experience with design engineering,projectmanagementandclientrelationsisrequired.Experiencewithoperatingplantprocedures,processes,budgetanalysis,andbudgetforecastingisrequired.Abilityto manage,motivateandorganizeteammembers,communicatingandprovidingtechnical direction and task assignments is required.

OtherRequiredQualifications(minimum):All applicants must possessexcellent verbal andwrittencommunicationskillsaswellaspresentationskills.ProficiencyinMicrosoftOfficesoftware;Word,ExcelandPowerPointisrequiredwithcompetencyinsoftwareapplications foremailanddatabases.Effectivetimemanagementskillsarerequiredaspositionmay involveworkingonseveralprojectsconcurrently.Knowledgeofandexperienceinproject schedulingtechniquesisrequired.Successfulcandidatewillberequiredtounderstandand complywithcompanypolicies,procedures,processesaswellasthosefinancialobligations thatwouldapplytoprojects.Abilitytopasssecurityanddrugscreeningandmaintain unescortednuclearplantaccessisrequired.Overtimeworkisrequired.Travelisrequiredto clientsites.Abilitytoperformwalkdownsofequipmentinanindustrialplantenvironment,to includeclimbingladders,accessingsecurity-controlledareas,andenteringconfinedspacesand controlledhazardous areas is required.

Preferred Education:MS in engineering or other technical specialty from an accredited universitywithcourseworkinmechanical,electrical,chemical,orsimilartechnicalscopeis desired.

Certification(s)orLicense(s)Preferred(minimum):ProfessionalEngineeringregistration(EIT or PE), and Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification are highly preferred.
