Job summary

ENERCON (Chattanooga) is seeking engineers to design and evaluate power systems at energy facilities, coordinating across disciplines and managing project budgets, scopes, and schedules. You will prepare engineering documents and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry codes to meet client expectations.

The role requires strong communication, willingness to travel to plant sites, and the ability to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

  • Completed a bachelor’s or master’s degree in one of the noted engineering majors from an accredited university.
  • Available to start in the next 1–2 months.
  • Design modification experiences preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in the preparation of design calculations.
  • Proficient in Word and Excel.
  • Knowledge of industry standards, willingness to participate in prototyping and testing, ability to create comprehensive design documentation preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with team members, presenting design proposals, and documenting design specifications preferred.
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot design issues, propose solutions, and iterate on designs preferred.
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams.
  • Must be able to climb stairs and ladders at client sites.
  • Must be able to effectively navigate client sites to conduct walkdowns.
  • Must be able to work outside.
  • Ability and willingness to travel for client and company projects and/or meetings.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and design power systems at power-generating facilities.
  • Coordinate with other engineering disciplines on the project.
  • Manage budget, scope, schedule, and quality with minimal guidance.
  • Prepare engineering documents (drawings, calculations, analyses) per codes and standards.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry codes, safety culture, and nuclear design techniques.
  • Produce high-quality deliverables per QA programs and client expectations.
  • Build strong client relationships through professional interactions.
  • Travel to plant sites for interface and walk-downs.
