Job summary

Xcel Energy is hiring for an entry-level Engineer I/II in nuclear power generation. The role involves performing routine engineering tasks under supervision, applying standard techniques, and growing toward licensed qualifications.

Located in a hybrid environment, some onsite time is required with a path toward higher responsibilities. The position requires an ABET-accredited engineering degree and eligibility for unescorted access to nuclear facilities, plus willingness to reside near the plant

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• 0-2 years experience for Engineer I; 2 years for Engineer II.
• Ability to obtain unescorted access to Xcel Energy's nuclear plants.
• Willing to reside within 30 or 60 minutes of the station.
• Fitness for duty during off hours when on call or emergency duty.

Responsibilities

• Work with increasing supervision; perform portions of a broader assignment.
• Apply standard practices and techniques; adjust data and follow steps.
• Develop or provide input to work schedules.
• Prepare estimates for projects or sections; analyze reliability or deficiencies.
• Use work management tools; support site and fleet goals.
• Attend meetings and participate in teams or committees.
• Training to achieve higher levels in the engineering path.
