Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• State Pharmacy Technician license preferred.
• National pharmacy technician certification preferred.
• Experience as a Pharmacy Technician in a nuclear setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepares prescriptions by typing labels and obtaining Pharmacist approval.
• Compounds medications according to state laws and Pharmacist endorsement.
• Draws doses into syringes or vials; performs QA tests on instruments.
• Receives, documents, and stores pharmaceuticals per guidelines.
• Maintains inventory and handles radioactive materials and Rx drugs.
• Assists with labeling blood cell products and other duties as needed.
• May provide radiation safety training and perform safety tasks.
• May oversee training of non-pharmacists and assist Radiation Safety Officer.
