Job summary

Antares is seeking a Nuclear Operations & Licensing Engineering Intern to help define operating and maintenance requirements for reactor systems, working with responsible engineers to translate designs into practical needs. You’ll use simulators to validate training and contribute to international licensing assessments for deployments.

Two cohorts will run next summer; roles are onsite at Idaho Falls, ID or Torrance, CA, with relocation and housing stipends.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program; junior or senior year.
• Prior internship or significant project/lab/research experience (>1 year).

Responsibilities

• Interface with engineers to define operating requirements for reactor systems.
• Develop and document maintenance requirements from designs and needs.
• Use simulators and test systems to validate training activities.
• Identify opportunities to improve training from simulator/test results.
• Evaluate international nuclear licensing frameworks for deployments.
• Identify differences between domestic and international licensing requirements.
• Demonstrate compliance approaches for domestic/international deployments.
