Job Summary

Designs, implements, and administers server and storage infrastructure within a Windows and Active Directory environment. This role involves overseeing and implementing security remediation plans for various infrastructure components in an enterprise environment, adhering to pre-established guidelines from the AEP cybersecurity program. Additionally, the Infrastructure Engineer is responsible for creating and maintaining technical documentation.

Job Description

What You'll Do:

  • Utilize established guidelines to remediate server vulnerabilities and configure devices in a Windows server enterprise environment to secure assets against cyber vulnerabilities.

  • Create and deliver data-driven reports using established tools, or develop script components with scripting tools such as PowerShell, JavaScript, or Ansible.

  • Enhance existing systems by analyzing business objectives, preparing action plans, and identifying areas for modification and improvement.

  • Design, implement, and manage server architecture in a Windows virtual environment.

  • Create new technical documentation and extend existing documentation as needed.

  • Consult closely with management and staff members regarding projects and tasks.

  • Collaborate with members of other technical teams on the development and implementation of infrastructure hardware and software systems.

  • Provide high-level technical support, analysis, operation, administration, and troubleshooting in a Windows server environment.

  • Perform infrastructure project assignments, including planning, researching, evaluating, and designing infrastructure solutions.

  • Automate repetitive administrative processes and data gathering using PowerShell.

  • Actively participate as a member of the Cook Nuclear Emergency Response Organization (ERO).

What We're Looking For:

Infrastructure Engineer Senior (SG7):

Education:Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience:5 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Infrastructure Engineer Principal (SG8):

Education:Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical field is required.

Experience:7 years of relevant work experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Nice-to-have:

  • Ability to acquire unescorted access at a nuclear plant.

  • Experience with the configuration of Windows Servers (2019 or newer), including:

    • Registry configurations

    • PowerShell or other scripting/automation tools

    • Active Directory Domain Services, including directory services, certificates, identity services, authentication, and authorization

    • Active Directory shares, permissions, security groups, and service accounts

    • Event logs, auditing, and troubleshooting

  • Understanding of vulnerability bulletins and patching practices across various infrastructure platforms.

  • Understanding and experience with Dell VxRail, Data Domain, and Unity.

  • Understanding and experience with F5 load balancers.

  • Understanding and experience with endpoint security solutions, including antivirus software and firewalls.
