Carlsbad Medical Center in Carlsbad, NM is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision. You will prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate gamma cameras and PET scanners, and ensure radiation safety and accurate EMR documentation.

Requires licensure as a radiologic technologist and NMTCB/ARDMS or ARRT Nuclear Medicine Tech certification, with 0-2 years experience; 2-4 years preferred.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures in a clinical or hospital setting required.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
• Licensure/certification required: ARRT NM, ARDMS/NMTCB; BCLS.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies following physician orders and established protocols.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously or orally, adhering to safety guidelines and policies.
• Verifies patient identity and contraindications; ensures exam appropriateness before proceeding.
• Operates and calibrates nuclear medicine imaging equipment (gamma cameras, PET scanners) and conducts QC checks.
