Job summary

Banner Health's BUMC Phoenix site seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform prescribed nuclear medicine procedures in a cardiology-influenced setting. The role collaborates with ultrasound techs, nurses, NPs, and other staff to deliver accurate imaging and timely interpretations while maintaining patient safety and ALARA standards.

Minimum qualifications include a radiologic/nuclear medicine certification, ARRT or NM Board certification, state licensure if applicable, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Certificate or diploma from an approved Radiologic/Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• National certification from ARRT Nuclear Board and/or NM Certification Board or equivalent; state licensure if applicable.
• Advance certification by accrediting body in specialty within 18 months of hire if applicable.
• BLS certification required.
• Clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine procedures by following orders and policies.
• Educates patients and families about procedures and treatments.
• Produces high-quality images and prepares documentation for interpretation.
• Demonstrates competence in invasive procedures and radiopharmaceutical administration.
• Performs quality control and maintains equipment; ensures ALARA safety.
• Upholds ethical, legal, and professional radiology responsibilities.
• Ensures department workflow runs efficiently and maintains supplies.
