Job Description

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMT) shall administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients to enhance the evaluation of physiologic processes at a molecular level. The NMT is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients requiring medical imaging services, following department policies and standards.

  • Performs routine and specialized nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Checks data quality; submits for interpretation; discusses findings with Radiologist.
  • Enters exam data on forms/computer screens as per protocols.
  • Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals; orders additional isotopes as needed.
  • Ensures security in receipt, transport, and storage of medications, including IV solutions.
  • Performs quality control procedures on pharmacy and imaging equipment per regulations.
  • Takes patient history and documents for Radiologist.
  • Explains procedures to patients.
  • Maintains continuing education credits per licensing requirements.
  • Participates in research and development of new methodologies.
  • Maintains records, logs, and documentation.
  • Participates in on-call rotations.
  • Strives for excellence in service as per CARE Manual.
  • Responds to hospital codes: Code Red, Code Pink, etc.
  • Ensures honest behavior and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Maintains confidentiality and security of protected health information.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements include:

  • Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology from an A.M.A.-approved program.
  • Current certification as a C.N.M.T. or registration as R.T.N.M. by ARRT, or documented experience.
  • Current Maryland licensure or eligibility.
  • CPR certification.
  • Ability to provide age-appropriate care and demonstrate knowledge of growth and development principles.
  • At least one year of experience.

Additional Information

  • Weekend on-call 7am-10pm.
  • Weekday on-call 3pm-10pm.
  • Some weekday shifts as needed.

Compensation

  • Pay Range: $44.29-$65.05
