Overview

This is a PRN Nuclear Medicine Technologist position located at North Hospital. Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures involving the use of radiopharmaceuticals to perform body function studies, organ imaging, and analyze biologic specimens. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to work with patients from pediatric through geriatric. Follows physician's instructions, prepares and operates equipment, and positions patients correctly to record diagnostic images. Requires a strong understanding of handling radiopharmaceuticals, including receipt, storage, administration, and disposal. Knowledge of hospital, state, and federal policies regarding radioactive materials, hazardous chemicals, and body fluids is essential.

Minimum Requirements
  1. 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  2. Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
  3. Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when needed.
  4. Active certification through one of the following: ARRT (Registered Technologist - Nuclear Medicine, RT(NM)) or NMTCB (Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist, CNMT), or recent graduate of an approved training program in Nuclear Medicine (board eligible). If eligible, credential must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
  5. If performing SPECT/CT or PET/CT, must obtain CT certification within 18 months of hire through ARRT or NMTCB.
  6. Current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
