Job summary

Valley Regional Medical Center in Brownsville, TX is hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join our imaging team. The role focuses on performing a variety of nuclear medicine imaging exams with independence and patient-centered care.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, pre/post-instructions, venipuncture, dose preparation, adherence to protocols, QA, and collaboration with Imaging Leadership.

Qualifications

• Certification in NM or radiography (ARRT-N or NMTCB) required.
• Associate degree in nuclear medicine or related field required.
• No travel required; no prior experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging and manage scheduling, indications, contraindications, and informed consent.
• Provide pre- and post-scan instructions to patients and families for procedural clarity.
• Review medical histories and assess baseline status prior to imaging.
• Demonstrate venipuncture and IV line management with aseptic technique.
• Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals with correct dosing.
• Perform imaging exams following physician orders and department protocols.
• Maintain radiation safety records and film badges; participate in CQI activities.
• Collaborate with Imaging Leadership and Department Director to support operations.
