Job description

Are you a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist with a passion for heart health? Join our dynamic and established cardiology practice, where cutting-edge technology meets compassionate patient care. We're seeking a dedicated professional to fulfill a part time position supporting our full time nuclear medicine technician working an average of 1-2 days a month. This role includes utilizing state-of-the-art nuclear medicine techniques to help diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions. About Us:

Connected Cardiovascular Care Associates (C3) is a leading cardiovascular practice led by Dr. Tony Das, a nationally recognized Interventional Cardiologist. We specialize in all aspects of cardiovascular care including coronary, vascular , structural, heart failure , electrophysiology, and preventive cardiology. Our team includes Dr. Imran Baig, Interventional and Structural Cardiologist, Dr. Nicholas C. Macpherson, cardiovascular imaging and heart failure specialist, Dr. Azizul Rehman, Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Ken Johnson, Interventional Cardiologist, Dr. Syed Saad, Electrophysiologist, and Cardiovascular Nurse Practitioners Victoria Skobel and Patricia Moussa.

Location:

Dallas and Rockwall, Texas

Essential Functions:

1. Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals and pharmacologic stress agents under supervision of the physician and according to manufacturer’s guidelines for cardiac imaging procedures.

2. Ensure accurate dosage and proper handling of radioactive materials.

3. Explain procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.

4. Monitor patients during imaging to ensure safety and comfort.

5. Assist patients before, during, and after procedures as needed.

6. Operate nuclear medicine imaging equipment to perform cardiac scans.

7. Position patients and adjust equipment to obtain optimal images.

8. Ensure high-quality imaging results for accurate diagnosis.

9. Perform computer acquisition and processing of complex nuclear data and images for interpretation by nuclear cardiologists.

10. Follow established protocols and safety procedures for handling and disposing of radioactive materials.

11. Perform regular quality control checks on imaging equipment.

12. Maintain accurate records of procedures, patient information, and radiopharmaceutical usage.

13. Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

14. Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing clear instructions and support.

15. Stay updated on regulations and best practices related to nuclear medicine and radiopharmaceuticals.

16. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations, as well as institutional policies.

17. Able to administer first aid and use emergency cart.

18. Load, transport, and unload mobile nuclear cameras and/or other equipment in designated company vehicle between practice locations as needed.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. Must have basic knowledge of EKG to perform cardiac studies.

2. Must be able to administer intramuscular and intravenous injections and start intravenous lines.

3. Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.

4. Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (NMTCB), or Registered Radiographer (ARRT – N)

5. Obtain an Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) license from the Texas Department of State Health Services.

6. ACLS and BLS certification.

7. Valid Driver’s License.

8. Ability to perform Nuclear Medicine procedures without supervision.

9. Must have the knowledge to make quick and highly technical decisions in order to accommodate physical restrictions and pathology.

10. Demonstrated leadership and management skills are essential.

Flexible Schedule: Monday – Thursday 8 AM to 4 PM, Friday 8 AM – 3 PM. No weekends or after hours.
