Chippenham Hospital in Richmond, VA seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures. You will prepare, calibrate, and administer radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure QA on cameras and equipment.

The role requires ARRT-N or CNMT licensure and BLS, with 1 year preferred. Responsibilities include accurate charge entry, computer processing, record-keeping, and inventory management.

Formación

• Graduate of AMA approved Nuclear Medicine Technology program and ARRT-N or CNMT licensed.
• Continuing education as required for licensure.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers is required.

Responsabilidades

• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures.
• Prepare, calibrate, store and administer radiopharmaceuticals.
• Perform quality assurance on cameras and instruments.
• Operate radiation detection devices and computer systems (Meditech, PACS, Syntrac).
• Enter charges accurately and verify physician orders.
• Maintain departmental records and inventory; assist in decontamination.

Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Perform a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures.

2. Order, prepare, calibrate, store and administer radiopharmaceuticals for routine and on-call procedures.

3. Perform quality assurance on cameras and various instruments.

4. Operate various radiation detection devices.

5. Demonstrate the ability to perform all necessary computer operations (i.e. Meditech, PACS and Syntrac).

6. Ensure proper charges are entered and physician orders are verified.

7. Computer processing.

8. Perform quarterly inventory of radioactive sealed sources.

9. Participate in maintenance of departmental records, manuals and inventory.

10. Perform decontamination procedures.

11. Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the department.

12. Answer phones, greet patients, physicians, and the public.

13. Completes and maintains educational requirements.

What qualifications you will need:

EXPERIENCE

PREFERRED: Minimum of one year as a nuclear medicine technologist

EDUCATION

REQUIRED: Graduate of AMA approved School of Nuclear Medicine Technology.ARRT-N or CNMT licensed. Continuing education as required for licensure.

Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technology or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (within 6 months of hire)

Required: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider
