Job summary

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for PRN assignments. The role involves performing NM exams, handling radioactive isotopes, and ensuring safety and quality in imaging. You will support patient flow, education, and documentation in a hospital setting.

The ideal candidate has CNMT or ARRT(N) certification, BLS within 30 days, and PET CT experience is preferred. An on-call schedule may apply as part of the position.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
• CNMT certification or ARRT(N) certification required.
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• PET CT experience preferred.
• On-call requirement for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols in a timely manner.
• Receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor decay of radioactive isotopes.
• Provide radiation safety support and maintain detailed reports.
• Record patient medical information and coordinate patient flow.
• Inform patients about procedures and communicate with staff and family.
• Maintain licenses, certifications, and accreditations as required.
• Prepare patients for examinations and assist with treatments.
• Demonstrate ability to handle and dispose of radioactive materials properly.

Job Summary And Qualifications

The Nuclear Medicine (NM) Technologist performs general nuclear medicine and PET CT exams providing the highest level of customer service and image quality. The NM tech also receives, calibrates, logs, administers and monitors the decay of radioactive isotopes following appropriate policies, procedures and radiation safety practices.

What you will do in this role:

• You will perform nuclear medicine exams following protocols and in a timely manner, ensuring a high quality of care.
• You will receive, calibrate, log, administer and monitor the decay of radioactive isotopes.
• You will provide radiation safety support in the event of a radiation incident/spill You will maintain accurate, detailed reports and records.
• You will record patients' medical information You will coordinate patient flow and check the daily list to ensure all exams are complete.
• You will inform the patient about the procedure and answer questions. You will interact and professionally communicate with co-workers, physicians, patients, and family members.
• You will maintain all licenses, certifications, and accreditations required as outlined in Job Qualifications.
• You will prepare patients for and assist with examinations or treatments.
• You will prepare education the patient on discharge instructions You will demonstrate the ability to perform technical skills and procedures.
• You will be knowledgeable in the handling of radioactive materials.
• You will properly measure radioactive waste and know how to dispose of it properly in accordance with regulatory guidelines.

What qualifications you will need:

• Graduate from an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
• (CNMT) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist or
• (ARRT (N))
• BLS must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• PET CT experience preferred.
• There will be an on call requirement for this role.
