Job summary

Lakeview Hospital in Utah seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist PRN to join a collaborative team dedicated to patient care and safety. Responsibilities include performing radionuclide procedures, assisting physicians with radiopharmaceuticals, and maintaining calibration and records in compliance with regulations.

Qualifications

• ARRT-R Radiography certification is required.
• CNMT certification is needed for Nuclear Medicine technologists.
• State or hospital-credentialed approval and anAssociate Degree in related field.

Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine procedures for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes.
• Assess patient age-appropriate care (adolescent to geriatric).
• Assist physicians with radiopharmaceutical preparation under safety guidelines.
• Check radionuclide assays and calibrate doses; verify equipment calibration daily.
• Maintain records of calibration, radiation surveys, and material handling.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at our facilityyou will be joininga collaborative team that is dedicated to serving our patients and also supporting one another.This position requires comprehensive understanding of related technology,independent judgment, and complete knowledge of all Federal and Utah Regulatory Commission rules and regulations. In this role you will:

• Perform duties directly involved with a variety of technical procedures in the application of radionuclides for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in humans.
• Be responsible for the assessment, treatment or care appropriate to the ages of the patients served: i.e. Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric.
• Assist physicians in the use of therapeutic radioisotopes under prescribed safety conditions and preparation and administration of radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic purposes.
• Check assay of radionuclides received and calibrate doses to be given. Also check equipment calibration daily.
• Maintain adequate records of equipment calibration and repairs, radiation surveys of laboratory and personnel, radionuclide receipt and use, storage and disposal of radioactive material in accordance with Hospital, State and Federalregulations.
• Keep abreast of new procedures, equipment and methods, and participate intheir evaluation and application.
• Participate in in-service training programs as required and instruct the demonstration of specific techniques and equipment.

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 7 days of employment start date
• (ARRT-R) Radiography
• (CNMT) Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• (RT) Radiologic Technologist/Radiographer
• Associate Degree
