The quaint, closely connected City of Apopka is a short drive from Orlando, yet far removed from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. Our hospital benefits from AdventHealth’s vast network of cutting-edge medical resources while maintaining the warmth of a community-based health care facility. We provide a multitude of inpatient and outpatient services, including critical care, emergency medicine, and advanced diagnostic imaging.

AdventHealth Apopka offers services from emergency to radiology, robotic surgery to advanced specialty care, with a recent expansion of our dedicated Cardiac unit. The role you’ll contribute:

Under supervision, the Nuclear Medicine Technologist performs a variety of technical procedures using radionuclides for diagnosis and treatment. Responsibilities require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. The technologist provides authorized, quality care to patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric, and actively participates in outstanding customer service, maintaining respectful relationships with all.

  • Identifying patients using approved guidelines to confirm accuracy before examinations.
  • Reviewing physician requests for clinical validity.
  • Preparing radionuclides, explaining procedures, and aseptically administering radionuclides following universal BSI principles.
  • Ensuring equipment quality control, performing patient examinations with age-specific techniques, and evaluating image quality.
  • Presenting exams and patient data to radiologists or cardiologists, assisting with image manipulation, and providing patient support and instructions.
  • Performing a wide range of Nuclear Medicine procedures, demonstrating proficiency with camera acquisition and processing, and helping develop team knowledge and competency.

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :

  • Current valid State of Florida license as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
  • ARRT-N certification
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or higher in a health science related field
