Job summary

Northside Hospital Inc. is seeking a licensed Nuclear Medicine Technologist to proactively review orders, prepare and administer radioactive materials, and ensure patient safety and education.

You will perform imaging, document findings, and collaborate with licensed physicians to optimize patient care. The role requires ARRT/NMTCB certification (or eligible within 6 months), BLS, and an accredited program degree.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program and certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with the ARRT or NMTCB
  • OR meets eligibility requirements for certification with certification to be achieved within 6 months of hire/transfer
  • Associate’s Degree or higher and certified as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with ARRT or NMTCB
  • Must hold American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

  • Review physician orders for accuracy and ensure correct documentation in the medical record.
  • Prepare, calibrate, and administer radioactive materials per safety procedures to protect patients and staff.
  • Educate patients and document medical history, screen contraindications, obtain informed consent as delegated.
  • Observe patient condition and notify appropriate personnel of changes or incidents.
  • Select imaging protocol, position patient, and adjust factors to display desired anatomy.
  • Perform imaging for surgical and therapeutic treatments; obtain scans and review results with physician.
  • Enter patient charges and maintain equipment readings and radioactivity checks.
  • Follow Georgia Department of Natural Resources guidelines and hospital safety policies.
  • Provide on-call coverage as scheduled and participate in flexible staffing.
  • Other duties as assigned by department leadership.
