Job Overview:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, under the supervision of the nuclear medicine supervisor and/or radiologist, performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in utilizing radionuclides for diagnosis and therapy of diseases. Participates in and exhibits good guest relations within the Medical Center and Radiology departments.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • NJ State license
  • Registered by the A.R.R.T. or the N.M.T.C.B., or eligible for registry
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Successful completion of site personnel general orientation and department-specific orientation
  • Successful completion of IV training class
  • Successful completion of radiation safety, survey, and decontamination orientation/training by RS

Scheduling Requirements:

  • Day Shift
  • Per Diem
  • Schedule may vary based on department needs

Essential Functions:

  • Check, measure, and record radiopharmaceuticals prior to administration
  • Perform quality controls on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients intravenously, orally, or by inhalation
  • Perform imaging procedures
  • Maintain accurate records under Nuclear Regulatory Commission guidelines
  • Perform other departmental duties as required
