Day Kimball Health is hiring for a part time (36-hour) Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our Nuclear Medicine department in Putnam, CT!

This position is eligible for a $7,500 Sign-On Bonus

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Summary:

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, under the direction of the Radiologist, Cardiologist, D.I. Administration and/or Lead Nuclear Medicine Technologist, performs professional duties which involve a variety of technical procedures and the application of prescribed radionuclides for diagnosis. The Nuclear Medicine Technologist assists physicians in selection of practical application and technical factors.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform a variety of Nuclear Medicine exams such as cardiac SPECT and other invasive procedures relating to the field including IV insertion.
  • Prepare radioactive tracer compounds for patient use. Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients in appropriate dosages. Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation to patient, staff and self.
  • Explain procedure to the patient. Instruct and assist patient in assuming physical position for each exam.
  • Follow NRC guidelines of documentation, safety and approved protocols. Set, adjust, manipulate, control and maintain a variety of complex electronic nuclear medicine equipment for diagnosis of disease.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a formal Nuclear Medicine training program approved by the Council on Education of the American Medical Association required. Certified or Registered in Nuclear Medicine by the ARRTN or CNMT required.
  • Must achieve/maintain CEUs in order to keep certification and/or registration current and in good standards.
  • CPR – Current AHA Healthcare Provider Certification / equivalent within 3 months of hire is required.
  • Minimum of 1 year practical experience performing related duties in the field of Nuclear Medicine including IV insertion preferred.

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of computer keyboard, programs and menus preferred.
  • High degree of technical aptitude with an in-depth knowledge of anatomy and physiology required.
