Overview

Independently perform all phases of diagnostic and therapeutic Nuclear Medicine procedures following department protocols, utilizing technical knowledge, skills, and good judgment to ensure safe and effective patient care in an educational setting. Accurately document all radioactive materials and medical records in compliance with federal, state, and hospital regulations. Rotational on-call required.

Qualifications
  • Satisfactory completion of an Associate of Science Degree in Nuclear Medicine from an AMA-approved program meeting JRCNMT requirements.
  • Certification by ARRT and/or NMTCB, and licensure from the Florida DOH.
  • Preferred: CT Certification by ARRT and/or NMTCB, and licensure by Florida DOH.
Additional Requirements
  • Employees in this position do not operate vehicles for business purposes.
  • A frequent driver is defined as someone who uses their personal or Shands vehicle at least once daily, five times per week, or drives over 150 miles weekly for work.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
  • Registered by ARRT (RT (N)) or NMTCB (CNMT).
  • Licensed by the Florida DOH as a Certified Radiologic Technologist.
  • Preferred: Registry by ARRT (RT (CT)) or NMTCB (CT), and Florida DOH licensure.
