Job summary

CHS Career Site is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision. You will prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, ensure radiation safety, and document all procedures in the EMR.

The role requires 0-2 years of experience with nuclear medicine procedures; 2-4 years in acute care is preferred. Licensure and NRC/state compliance knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in nuclear medicine imaging techniques and radiopharmaceutical preparation.
• Strong knowledge of NRC, state, and federal regulations for nuclear medicine and radiation protection.
• Excellent communication and patient care skills, ensuring comfort and understanding during procedures.
• Ability to recognize abnormal scan results and identify technical errors to improve imaging accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies per physician orders.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals following safety protocols and facility policies.
• Assesses patient condition, identifiers, and appropriateness of the exam.
• Operates and calibrates imaging equipment (gamma cameras, PET scanners) for quality control.
• Maintains documentation for NRC/state regulatory compliance and EMR entries.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of radioactive materials per safety protocols.
• Collaborates with Radiologists, Cardiologists, and staff to update imaging protocols.
• Maintains regular attendance and adheres to all policies and standards.
