We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in performing a variety of nuclear medicine procedures in accordance with industry protocols and safety standards. Job Title: Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Locations: Upstate New York, NY & Neptune, NJ

Job Type: Full-Time in Upstate New York | Part-time in Neptune, NJ

Schedule: For full-time in NY-Day time hour with no call & no weekends; For part-time in NJ- 7 am to 3:30 pm or 4:00 pm. There is flexibility on the day (M-F).

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine program
  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Nuclear Medicine or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
  • Holds all applicable state licenses where services are performed
  • Minimum 1-2 years of nuclear scanning experience preferred
  • Knowledge of EKG and stress testing
  • BLS Certification (must be maintained annually)
  • Strong computer, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexible schedule and willingness to travel as needed

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as directed by the physician
  • Calibrate nuclear medicine equipment (e.g., dose calibrators, gamma cameras, Geiger counters)
  • Position patients appropriately and explain procedures clearly to ensure comfort and understanding
  • Conduct diagnostic imaging studies and produce high-quality images using specialized equipment
  • Monitor and record radiation levels, ensuring proper safety measures and compliance with regulations
  • Receive, handle, and dispose of radioactive materials in accordance with federal/state guidelines
  • Maintain and clean equipment per manufacturer recommendations and report malfunctions promptly
  • Complete all required paperwork and documentation thoroughly and accurately
  • Perform daily, weekly, and quarterly quality control checks on all relevant equipment
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) radiation safety principles
  • Maintain adequate inventory and supplies for both fixed and mobile testing environments
  • Communicate effectively with team members, customer service personnel, and site coordinators
  • Report any incidents or unusual occurrences following established company procedures
  • Stay current with OSHA, compliance, and ongoing job competency training

Vision Insurance: Synectics offers eligible employees vision insurance through VSP. Eligibility begins on the 1st day of the calendar month following 60 days of continuous full time employment with Synectics.401(k) Plan: The Synectics Inc. Investment Savings Retirement Plan. Synectics offers all employees who are 21 years of age or older the opportunity to invest in the 401(k) Plan on the first enrollment date that is at least 30 days after employment begins. Enrollment dates are each January 1st, April 1st, July 1st, and October 1st.

Technical Certification Bonus: Synectics is pleased to award its employees a bonus of up to $500 for an approved professional certification. In determining the bonus amount, Synectics will consider the cost of the test(s) for any certification relating to your current position, achieved during your employment with us. Only one Certification Bonus per calendar year may be awarded per employee. Only current, active employees will be eligible to receive this bonus. It will be awarded 90 days after the Synectics office has received documentation confirming the successful completion of the certification.
