Job summary

Atlantic Health is seeking a radiopharmaceutical technologist responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, using a variety of equipment and following prescribed procedures.

Duties include calibrating equipment, performing diagnostic studies under physician orders, measuring radioactivity with Geiger counters and scintillation devices, administering therapeutic doses, and maintaining radiation safety in all handling and disposal tasks.

  • Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
  • Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Other duties as assigned
