Job summary

ARA Diagnostic Imaging - Austin Radiological Association is seeking a qualified individual to perform nuclear medicine and radiographic examinations in Austin, TX. This full-time position offers rotating shifts and requires proficiency in venipuncture and excellent patient care skills.

Ideal candidates will have graduated from an accredited Nuclear Medicine program and maintained relevant certifications. The role involves ensuring quality assurance, using digital information systems, and providing outstanding patient services.

Qualifications

  • ARRT (N) or NMTCB (CNMT), CPR, BLS, MRT, CEU credits maintained; ACLS preferred.
  • Proficient in cardiac EKG set-up.
  • Knowledge of ADAC/Philips equipment.

Position Summary
  • Perform all nuclear medicine and radiographic examinations and equipment in the assigned work area following established protocols.
  • Ensure proper positioning of patients and equipment, proficient venipuncture, and appropriate selection of nuclear medicine and radiographic techniques.
  • Process and display NM data on multiple workstation platforms; work closely with radiologists to stay current with technology.
  • Operate digital information systems including Radiology Information System (RIS) and PACS; conduct daily quality assurance of NM schedule.
  • Maintain professional education and knowledge of ALARA principles; be flexible to work at multiple sites as required.
  • Provide excellent patient care and service, explaining exams, medications, radiation safety, and positioning; exhibit proficient IV skills and placement of EKG leads.
  • Track patients from exam start to discharge and ensure all images, tech notes, and required documents are sent to PACS per policy.
  • Recognize patient conditions essential for successful completion of nuclear medicine procedures.
  • Review patient charts for exam referrals/orders, noting any special instructions or appointment notes.
  • Verify that all images and documentation have successfully transmitted to PACS.
Desired Professional Skills and Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.

  • Proficient in venipuncture and cardiac EKG set‑up.
  • Knowledge of QA procedures for hot lab and imaging device maintenance and use of ADAC/Philips equipment.
