Oro Valley Hospital in Oro Valley, AZ is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I for full-time day shift. You will perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision, handling radiopharmaceuticals and operating imaging equipment.

The role emphasizes radiation safety, accurate record-keeping in EMR, and collaboration with radiologists and cardiologists to deliver high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures in a clinical or hospital setting is required.
• 2-4 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist in an acute care hospital setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies following physician orders to ensure high-quality images.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously or orally, following safety protocols and facility policies.
• Assesses patient condition before procedures and verifies proper identification and contraindications.
• Operates and calibrates nuclear medicine imaging equipment (gamma cameras, PET scanners) for optimal image quality.
• Maintains documentation for NRC/state regulatory compliance and quality control checks.
• Ensures safe handling, storage, and disposal of radioactive materials per regulations.
• Communicates clearly with patients about procedures, risks, and aftercare.
• Documents procedures and patient interactions in the EMR with accuracy.
