Memorial Cardiology Associates is seeking a PRN Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist for Saturday clinics across three locations in the Houston area.

Responsibilities include patient communication, radiopharmaceutical preparation, PET studies, radiation safety, and data quality control. Requires ARRT/NMTCB registration, radiology tech background, and BLS/CPR certification; PET experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of accredited Radiology Technology school.
• Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
• 2 years of PET experience preferred, BLS/CPR certification on file.

Responsibilities

• Explains procedures to patients to ensure cooperation and optimal results.
• Prepares radiopharmaceuticals, calculates doses, and administers doses under Physician direction.
• Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies, treadmill supervision, and IV starts.
• Measures radioactivity with Geiger counters and scintillation detectors.
• Maintains radiation safety and disposal of radioactive materials.
• Maintains equipment quality control and protects patient health information.
• Attends required meetings and performs related duties as needed.

Description

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist- PRN

Memorial Cardiology Associates is adding to the team and in search of PRN Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologists for our Saturday clinics. This position will accommodate three office locations and technologists will sign up in advance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administers doses, under direction of Physician
• Performs diagnostic exams including Cardiac PET studies on patients as prescribed by physician, including treadmill supervision and starting IVs.
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
• Maintains quality control of all equipment
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Attends required meetings
• Performs related work as required

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Must have excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills
• Must be experienced and work independently in a very busy private cardiology practice setting

Requirements

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology
• Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB
• 2 years of experience is preferred in PET
• BLS/CPR Certification

Schedule Details:

• PRN status
• Saturday clinic – 6am -2pm
