Job summary

Pima - Tucson Heart Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist to perform diagnostic studies and radiopharmaceutical procedures with a focus on safety and accuracy.

The role requires an associate degree in Radiology Technology, ARRT or NMTCB registration, and BLS/CPR certification. Day shift, full-time, travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Must be graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program.
• Must be registered with ARRT or NMTCB.
• BLS/CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Explain procedures to patients for cooperation and accurate results.
• Prepare radiopharmaceuticals, calculate doses, and administer under physician direction.
• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine studies using scanners or gamma cameras.
• Measure radioactivity with Geiger counters and scintillation devices.
• Follow radiation safety protocols and dispose of radioactive materials.
• Maintain QC of all equipment and safeguard patient privacy.
• Attend required meetings and perform related tasks as needed.

Description

Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist- Pima Heart and Vascular in Tucson, AZ

Duties and Responsibilities

• Explains procedure to patients to assure cooperation and optimum test results
• Prepares stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculate doses, and administer doses, under direction of Physician
• Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by Physician, using scanner or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film
• Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers and scintillation detectors
• Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials
• Maintains quality control of all equipment
• Safeguard the privacy of patient health information
• Attends required meetings
• Performs related work as required
