Job summary

Navarro Regional Medical Center seeks a Nuclear Medicine Technologist I to perform diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures under physician supervision. You will prepare radiopharmaceuticals, operate imaging equipment, ensure radiation safety, and keep accurate records in line with regulatory standards.

You will collaborate with Radiologists and Cardiologists, contribute to high-quality patient care, and participate in quality control, safety training, and protocol updates.

Qualifications

• 0-2 years of experience performing nuclear medicine procedures in a clinical or hospital setting
• Strong knowledge of NRC, state, and federal regulations for nuclear medicine and radiation protection
• Ability to recognize abnormal scan results and identify technical errors to improve imaging accuracy
• Effective communication and patient care skills
• Attention to detail in documentation and regulatory compliance
• Ability to work independently and with radiologists and cardiologists

Responsibilities

• Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures and therapies following physician orders and protocols.
• Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals intravenously or orally following safety guidelines.
• Assesses patient condition before procedures and verifies proper identification and screening.
• Operates and calibrates imaging equipment like gamma cameras and PET scanners.
• Maintains documentation for NRC/state regulatory compliance.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of radioactive materials per safety protocols.
• Communicates with patients to explain procedures and post-procedure care.
• Documents all procedures and interactions in the EMR.
• Collaborates with leadership and vendors to update protocols on NucMed scanners.
• Maintains regular attendance and complies with policies.
