Job summary

  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals per NRC regulations and policies.
  • Maintain safety, cleanliness, and accurate patient records in RIS.
  • Ensure HIPAA compliance and accurate adherence to physician orders.

The pay range for this position is $30.14-$55.18 based on direct and relevant experience.

RAYUS Radiology is looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team. As a Nuclear Medicine technologist, you will operate your assigned scanner(s) to produce images of the patient\'s body for diagnostic purposes. You will provide Nuclear Medicine services within professional standards and with excellent customer service in a patient-centered approach. This is a casual/PRN position working day shift.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Screens patient before exam for any precautions or contradictions, using two patient identifiers to ensure correct patient and procedure
  • Explains and prepares patients for Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures, including positioning to ensure proper imaging
  • Performs routine and advanced Nuclear Medicine imaging procedures with minimal supervision, while providing patient support throughout the procedure
  • Assesses, prepares, records and administers radiopharmaceuticals according to Nuclear Regulatory Commission regulations and departmental policies
  • Maintains awareness of safety-related work behaviors to ensure a safe work environment and high-quality patient care
  • Adjusts scan parameters as needed and uses dose-reduction techniques as appropriate
  • Maintains positive relationships with radiologists, referring providers and co-workers
  • Follows physicians\' orders precisely and adheres to safety regulations
  • Accurately maintains patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS)
  • Maintains an orderly and clean work area to promote safety
  • Maintains ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements
  • Maintains equipment in good working order and cleans/disinfects after each use
  • Ensures compliance with HIPAA guidelines
Nuclear Medicine Department Support
  • Performs and records daily quality control procedures on specified equipment
  • Performs daily and weekly departmental surveys to ensure radiation safety standards
  • Reports contamination to Radiation Safety Officer
  • Assists with maintaining imaging protocol manuals and software upgrades
  • Monitors medical supply inventory and requests supplies as necessary
  • Assists with training of new associates, providing technical guidance as applicable
Additional Responsibilities
  • Completes other tasks as assigned
Required qualifications
  • NMTCB registered technologist, current and in good standing
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of radiography
  • Licensed Radiological Technologist in the appropriate state, if applicable
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
  • Ability to competently perform Nuclear Medicine procedures independently
  • Certification in imaging specialty
Preferred qualifications
  • Bilingual
  • Registered/licensed in PET and PET/CT
