Job summary

Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our imaging team. You will position patients for exams, perform procedures, document studies, and participate in daily quality control and safety checks.

Qualified candidates will hold ARRT or NMTCB certification, BLS, and graduate from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program; one year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • ARRT or NMTCB certification required or eligible.
  • Current BLS verification required.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • One year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Position and prepare patients for exams according to the procedure.
  • Perform procedures and assess patients, addressing needs as appropriate.
  • Complete documentation for each study performed.
  • Participate in daily quality control and assessment activities.
  • Handle radiopharmaceuticals: storage, dosage preparation/calculation, administration, disposal.
  • Perform equipment calibration, maintenance, and quality control checks.
  • Contribute to improvements in department operations.
  • Monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care and practices.

Responsibilities
  • You will position and prepare patients for exams according to the type of procedure to be performed
  • You will be performing procedures and assessing patients throughout and responding to the patient’s needs as appropriate
  • You will complete appropriate documentation for each study performed
  • You will participate in quality control and assessment activities on a daily basis
  • You will handle radiopharmaceuticals to include storage, dosage preparation/calculation, administration, and disposal
  • You will perform quality control, equipment calibration, and equipment maintenance
  • You will participate in the improvement of operational functions of the department
  • You will monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of care and practices; identifying opportunities for improvement through collaboration
Qualifications
  • Current registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course, as specified in policy
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Nuclear Medicine Technology
  • One year of experience in Nuclear Medicine preferred
