Job summary

Endeavor Health in Vernon Hills is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to operate nuclear medicine units and perform diagnostic procedures. The role is full time with on-call duties and local travel to nearby facilities.

You will educate patients, assist with transfers, monitor conditions, and document dosages in compliance with IEMA regulations. ARRT/NMTCB certification and IEMA license are required.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program.
• Current ARRT registration or NMTCB certification.
• Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license.
• Knowledge of proper body mechanics and/or experience using them effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures and operate nuclear medicine units as assigned by the supervisor.
• Explain examination procedures to patients and provide necessary instructions.
• Assist patients from wheelchairs/stretches onto and off imaging tables, position for examinations, and apply immobilization devices as needed.
• Monitor patients' conditions frequently in the Nuclear Medicine area and report critical changes to the Radiologist.
• Administer appropriate radioisotopes with correct dosages following department policy; document dosages per IEMA regulations.

• Full Time/Part Time: Full Time
• Hours: M-F 7:30am-4. Rotating start times
• On Call: Yes, 2-3 shifts per month, 1 weekend every 6-7 weeks
• Travel: Local- Vernon Hills offsite, Highland Park

What You Will Do

• Perform diagnostic nuclear medicine procedures assigned by the supervisor and operate nuclear medicine units.
• Explain examination procedures to patients and provide necessary instructions.
• Assist patients from wheelchairs and stretchers onto and off the imaging table, positioning them for examinations and applying immobilization devices or compression bands as needed.
• Monitor patients' conditions frequently while in the Nuclear Medicine area and report any critical changes to the Radiologist.
• Administer the appropriate radioisotope with the correct dosage following department policy and procedure. Accurately document dosages on dose sheets in compliance with IEMA regulations.

What You Will Need

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine program with thorough knowledge of radioisotopes.
• Certification: Current registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and CPR or certification by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB)
• License: Current Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) license
• Experience: Knowledge of proper body mechanics and/or experience using them effectively.
