Job summary

Uniontown Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist Level I to perform imaging and therapeutic procedures, ensuring high quality patient care and safety. The role requires state licensure, ARRT/NMTCB certification within six months, BLS, and hospital-based training.

Responsibilities include coordination with radiology teams, adherence to safety standards, and ongoing participation in education and quality improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Must possess current or temporary Nuclear Medicine license as required by state board where services will be provided.
• Must be registered by ARRT or NMTCB as Nuclear Medicine Technologist within six months of hire.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• State criminal background check and Federal checks as required.

Responsibilities

• Attends departmental meetings and activities to support progress improvement.
• Participates in planning and implementing changes in department operations.
• Performs a full range of nuclear medicine imaging and/or treatment procedures.
• Plans imaging procedures to meet quality standards per protocol.
• Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff per policy and regulatory guidelines.
• Reports equipment failures immediately to ensure radiology service performance.
• Assesses patients' needs related to comfort and safety.
• Acts as a clinical/instructional leader in radiology education programs.

Plans and performs imaging procedures to produce medical images for the diagnosis or treatment of patients meeting the quality standards of the department as identified through professional literature and department protocol, policy and procedure.5. Minimizes radiation exposure to patients and staff in accordance with Radiation Safety Department policy, procedure and guidelines as well as State, Federal, The Joint Commission and other applicable regulatory bodies.6. Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification using identified communication mechanism to ensure the performance of radiology services.7. Assesses patients’ needs related to comfort, hygiene and range of motion and provides support accordingly.8. Performs as a clinical and/or didactic instructor meeting the quality standards of the radiology education program(s) as identified through professional literature, department and radiology education program(s) protocol, policy and procedure.For facilities with specialty accreditation requirements:1.
