Job summary

Unity Hospital is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform a range of diagnostic nuclear medicine exams with focus on patient care and accurate documentation. You will operate imaging equipment, educate patients about procedures, and ensure safety and comfort throughout the exam.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree or certification in nuclear medicine, ARRT/NMTCB certification within 3 months, and NYS radiologic license in nuclear medicine or eligible licensure within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Nuclear Medicine or completion of certification program is required.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB Certification within 3 months of hire.
• NYS License in Radiologic Technology in Nuclear Medicine area or NYS permit with licensure within 6 months of hire.
• Continuing education classes; Official transcript or verification from school’s registrar.
• New graduates accepted with appropriate verification and documentation.

Perform a variety of diagnostic exams and quality assurance procedures; ensures that nuclear imaging equipment is in optimal working condition.Patient Care. Maintain accountability for timely and proper service to patients throughout the area; educate patients regarding their procedure and maintain a safe, comfortable and supportive environment for the patient throughout the examDocumentation. Emotional and cognitive demands are substantial, involving decision-making under pressure, responding to emergencies, and maintaining sustained focus. Environmental exposures include infectious agents, bodily fluids, chemicals, and radiation.
