Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic and therapeutic radionuclide procedures under supervision in the Nuclear Medicine department.

The role requires NJ licensure, ARRT/NMTCB registration or eligibility, and completion of required safety training. The position features a day shift and a 20-hour/week schedule with a $12,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
• NJ State license is required.
• Registered by ARRT or NMTCB, or registry eligible.
• BLS through the American Heart Association.
• Successful orientation (general and department).
• IV training completed.
• Radiation safety orientation/training completed.

Responsibilities

• Check, measure and record radiopharmaceuticals prior to administration.
• Perform quality controls on equipment and radiopharmaceuticals.
• Administer radiopharmaceuticals intravenously, orally or by inhalation.
• Perform imaging procedures.
• Maintain records under NRC guidelines.
• Perform other department duties as required.

Job Overview

The Nuclear Medicine Technologist, under the direction of the nuclear medicine supervisor and/or radiologist, the nuclear medicine technologist performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative in the utilization of radionuclides for the diagnosis and therapy of disease in humans. Participates in and exhibits good Medical Center and Radiology guest relations.

$12,000 sign-on bonus (external employees only)

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
• NJ State license
• Registered by the A.R.R.T. or the N.M.T.C.B., or Registry eligible Maintain required
• BLS through the American Heart Association
• Successful completion of site personnel general orientation and department specific orientation
• Successful completion of IV training class.
• Successful completion of radiation safety, survey and decontamination orientation/training by RS
