Job summary

Atlantic Health System in Summit, New Jersey, seeks a Radiopharmacy Technologist to prepare and render radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies, following prescribed procedures and using a variety of equipment.

You will mix stock solutions, calibrate equipment, perform imaging studies with scanners or scintillation cameras, measure radioactivity, administer therapeutic doses under physician direction, and uphold radiation safety protocols.

  • Responsible for preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals in diagnostic and therapeutic studies, utilizing variety of equipment while following prescribed procedures
  • Mix stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials, calculates doses, and administers doses under direction of physician.
  • Calibrates equipment.
  • Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and to produce image of organ on photographic film.
  • Measures radioactivity, using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under direction of physician.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in use and disposal of radioactive materials.
  • Other duties as assigned
