Job summary

CommonSpirit Health - Georgia Campus is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to perform diagnostic imaging using radionuclides and to administer radiopharmaceuticals. This PRN role requires strict adherence to radiation safety, patient care, and precise imaging techniques.

Responsibilities include verifying orders, maintaining safety protocols, and prioritizing workload across variable shifts. Certification and CPR are required upon hire, with training provided as needed.

Qualifications

  • High School GED or general high school diploma required at hire.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist within 90 days of hire.
  • BLS/CPR certification at hire.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and maintain safety.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Nuclear Medicine procedures using radionuclides to produce images.
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and operate equipment.
  • Ensure patient care, radiation safety, and accuracy of orders.
  • Identify artifacts and minimize interference in images.
  • Prioritize workload and maintain documentation.

PRN: Days and Shifts vary. Weekends Holidays and On-Call responsibilities

As our Nuclear Med Tech, you will be a specialized healthcare professional, vital in providing diagnostic and therapeutic services through the precise application of radionuclides.

Every day, you will expertly perform Nuclear Medicine procedures, utilizing radionuclides to produce high-quality images and data for licensed practitioners. You'll ensure appropriate patient care, recognize conditions essential for successful procedures, administer radiopharmaceuticals, operate equipment, and adhere to strict radiation safety.

To be successful in this role demands current certification, advanced technical expertise, and an exceptional eye for detail, coupled with a thorough understanding of radiation safety. Your compassionate patient care and dedication to precise imaging will be essential.

  • Uses two patient identifiers
  • Compares doctor’s order to requisition for accuracy
  • Assesses patient for possible artifacts and takes appropriate action to prevent interference with image
  • Calculates, prepares, and administers proper patient dose and correct radiopharmaceutical according to dept. standard.
  • Properly disposes of radioactive waste, contaminated lines, and spent radiopharmaceuticals
  • Routinely demonstrates the ability to prioritize workload.
