Job summary

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Licensed in Illinois to perform Nuclear Medicine and Radiography procedures.
  • Current NMTCB and/or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification.

Responsibilities

  • Perform PET/CT imaging procedures following established protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Set up imaging protocols, reconstruct images, and archive completed studies.
  • Adapt imaging protocols based on patient needs while maintaining diagnostic quality.
  • Monitor patient safety, comfort, and well-being before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxiety.

Job description

Pride Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join a healthcare team in Peoria, IL 61615. This is a direct hire, full-time opportunity offering excellent benefits, a stable schedule, and the chance to work with one of the state’s leading healthcare systems.

Job Summary:

In this role, you will perform PET/CT imaging procedures while ensuring exceptional patient care, image quality, and compliance with all radiation safety and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in nuclear medicine imaging, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered oncology care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform PET/CT imaging procedures following established protocols.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Set up imaging protocols, reconstruct images, and archive completed studies.
  • Adapt imaging protocols based on patient needs while maintaining diagnostic quality.
  • Monitor patient safety, comfort, and well-being before, during, and after procedures.
  • Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.
  • Serve as a liaison between the imaging department and radiology teams.
  • Provide compassionate, patient-centered care throughout the imaging process.
  • Explain procedures and answer patient questions to reduce anxiety.
  • Monitor patients for any adverse reactions during imaging procedures.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Follow all OSHA, HIPAA, radiation safety, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Maintain high standards of image quality and documentation.
  • Assist with clinical data collection for patient follow-up and educational initiatives.
  • Support continuous quality improvement activities.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Travel between clinic locations as needed.
  • Perform additional duties assigned by leadership.
Required Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program.
  • Licensed in Illinois to perform both Nuclear Medicine and Radiography procedures.
  • Current NMTCB and/or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine) certification.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous PET/CT imaging experience.
  • Oncology imaging experience.
  • Experience working in an outpatient imaging or cancer care setting.

  • Pay Rate: $32 - $52/hour

(*Offered pay rate will be based on education, experience, and healthcare credentials.)
