Bailey Medical Center in Owasso, OK, is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Tech for day shift and PRN coverage. The role supports the Imaging Department under the supervision of the Imaging Supervisor.

You will perform nuclear medicine exams, prepare and schedule patients, handle equipment, ensure regulatory compliance, and assist physicians with procedures. The ideal candidate is a graduate in radiologic technology or nuclear medicine and is CNMT certified or eligible, with BLS within 14 days of hire.

Qualifications

  • CNMT certification upon hire is required.
  • Graduate of an approved radiologic technology or nuclear medicine program; registry or registry-eligible.
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of regulatory mandates for quality control and DEQ regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nuclear medicine procedures and ensure high-quality imaging.

Get to Know Your Team:
  • Bailey Medical Center offers a full range of medical services, including general surgery, maternity, gynecology, bariatrics, orthopedics and emergency care. The 73-bed hospital is one of the most technologically advanced hospitals in the region.
  • Under the general supervision of the Imaging Supervisor, the incumbent must be able to perform nuclear medicine procedures, schedule procedures, be able to initiate new procedures, transportation of patients, handling telephone calls for scheduling patients, answering questions related to reports of exams.
  • Must be able to handle patient support equipment, i.e. I.V. pumps, O2, etc.
  • The incumbent helps clean rooms and equipment and order supplies, assist physicians with invasive procedures and administer basic C.P.R.
  • The incumbent helps the supervisor in the daily operation of the Nuclear Medicine department.
  • The technologist must be a graduate of an approved school of radiologic technology/nuclear medicine and/or be registered or registry eligible.
  • Must possess a knowledge and understanding of regulatory mandates for quality control.
  • Incumbent must adhere to all DEQ regulations.
  • The incumbent must be able to maintain a high standard of imaging. A thorough knowledge of nuclear medicine physics, anatomy and positioning are essential for a quality exam.
  • Must be able to handle multiple demands simultaneously and keep a helpful attitude towards patients, their families, office personnel, physicians, and associates.
  • Must be able to coordinate patient prepping and scanning to maximize smooth patient flow.
  • Must be able to help move patients when needed. Will participate in performance improvement initiatives.
  • Will assist with other activities as deemed necessary for the day to day operation of the department.
  • The incumbent must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in his or her assigned area.
  • The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs, and provide the care needed as described in the department's competency plan.
Job Requirements:
  • Vocational/Technical
  • Nuclear Medicine training
  • CNMT (upon hire)
  • BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Job Preferred Requirements:
  • 1 year of experience preferred
