Job description

Sentara is currently hiring a Nuclear Medicine Technologist.

This is a flexible position with rotating shift hours. The position is located in Norfolk, VA.

Job Responsibilities

• Performs and analyzes all diagnostic Nuclear Medicine procedures in an ambulatory setting.
• Ensures compliance with all quality control and quality assurance standards as prescribed by state, federal, and local agencies.
• Provides excellent patient care and practices radiation safety standards at all times.
• Conducts general Nuclear Medicine imaging of patients, including positioning and demonstration of correct anatomy/pathology.
• Prepares, doses, and administers radiopharmaceuticals and radioisotopes.
• Operates radiation-producing equipment and electronic radiology systems.
• Prepares patient rooms/equipment, educates patients and families, and maintains departmental documentation and supply inventory.
• Explains procedures and discharge instructions to patients.
• Complies with radioactive activity monitoring and documentation.
• Requires intravenous (IV) competency.

Qualifications

Education:

• Trade school certificate in radiologic sciences
• BLD in Nuclear Medicine

Certification/Licensure:

• ARRT required, CNMT certification

Experience:

No experience required; new graduates are welcome.
