  • Must hold NMTCB or ARRT (N) certification.
  • Must maintain current BLS certification.
  • 1–3 years of nuclear medicine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Performs nuclear medicine imaging procedures according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Prepares, measures, and administers radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately for diagnostic procedures.
  • Operates nuclear medicine imaging equipment and ensures the production of high-quality diagnostic images.
  • Reviews patient information, clinical history, and prescribed examinations to determine appropriate imaging techniques and protocols.
  • Explains procedures to patients, answers questions, and provides clear instructions to promote patient understanding and cooperation.
  • Ensures proper patient identification, preparation, positioning, and comfort throughout nuclear medicine examinations.
  • Adheres to radiation safety practices and regulatory requirements to protect patients, staff, and visitors from unnecessary radiation exposure.
  • Performs required quality control procedures on imaging equipment and reports equipment concerns or malfunctions appropriately.
  • Accurately documents radiopharmaceutical administration, imaging procedures, patient information, and other required clinical documentation.
  • Monitors patients throughout procedures and responds appropriately to changes in patient condition or unexpected reactions.
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and properly stocked imaging environment while following department policies and infection prevention standards.
  • Works collaboratively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other members of the interdisciplinary care team to support timely and accurate diagnostic imaging.

Education
