Qualifications

  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of IEMA regulations and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately prepares injection of radioactive material doses and administers them to patients appropriately.
  • Orders radiopharmaceuticals as needed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Conducts wipe tests and surveys in accordance with IEMA regulations.

Job description

Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Department: Nuclear Medicine

Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Accurately prepares injection of radioactive material doses and administers them to patients appropriately.
  • Accurately surveys radioactive shipments and records results.
  • Actively participates in radioisotope meetings.
  • Assembles and prepares patient information and documentation as required.
  • Conducts wipe tests and surveys in accordance with IEMA regulations, prepares and logs radiopharmaceuticals, calculates and logs decayed dosage times, performs resolution checks of cameras, stores low‑level radioactive material, and disposes of decayed material.
  • Orders radiopharmaceuticals as needed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs necessary checks of equipment, including dose calibrators, and records data in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Performs procedures in accordance with rules and regulations set forth by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA).
  • Prepares syringes for camera quality control, measures, and logs results as needed.
  • Thoroughly explains the nature and procedure of the test to patients.

Compensation

Estimated Compensation Range: $37.23 – $57.71 per hour, pay based on experience.
