Job description

Job Description: Nuclear Medicine Technician

Location: Franklin, WI, 53132 - Onsite

Contract Duration: 3 months+

Experience Level: 1-3 years

Department: Nuclear Medicine

Shift Timings: 07:00 - 17:30, Monday to Friday (4 Days/10 Hours)

Weekly Hours: 40 Hours

Duration: 12 weeks, with (4) 10-hour shifts from Monday to Thursday, scheduled at the PET Mobile unit at Franklin and Elmbrook Hospitals (19333 W. North Ave, Brookfield, WI 53045). The role may require floating onsite within the skill set when volumes are low or to sites within 40 miles.

Roles & Responsibilities
  1. Maintain and operate cameras that detect and map radioactive drugs in a patient's body to create diagnostic images.
  2. Position patients and select anatomic and technical factors accurately.
  3. Order, prepare, administer, and dispose of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols.
  4. Follow radiation safety procedures and guidelines.
  5. Ensure prompt submission of high-quality images and documents to PACS, including correct lead markers and patient data/history.
  6. Ensure equipment is functioning properly and report any malfunctions.
  7. Lock/tag out equipment if necessary.
  8. Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly department.
Required Skills and Certifications
  • Nuclear Medicine Technician certification.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
