Qualifications

  • Graduation from an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine.
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or NMTCB.
  • Current BLS certification.

Job description

Position Summary:Responsible for performing all aspects of patient exam activities of nuclear medicineat a technical level that will produce high quality images consistent withestablished policies and procedures at a technical level typically requiringgeneral supervision.

  • Specializes in performing diagnostic studies in nuclearmedicine imaging.
  • Obtains patient history,explains standard procedures, and addresses patient concerns tofoster a sense of comfort and confidence to patients and ensure the needsof individual patients are met.
  • Operates and maintains all assigned nuclearscanning imaging equipment to ensure it works properly.
  • Performs diagnostic studies including measuringand preparing concentrations of radioactive isotopes in specified bodyareas to obtain diagnostic information that correctly captures the imagesrequested by a physician.
  • Properly identifies, preparesand/or administers medications/substances that are within thetechnologist’s scope of practice as prescribed by a licensed independentpractitioner.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduationfrom an AMA-approved school of nuclear medicine.
  • Registered in Nuclear Medicine with the ARRT or the NuclearMedicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB).
  • Current BLS certification.
