Job summary

Northwell Health in New York hires a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to operate Nuclear Medicine equipment and generate diagnostic scans for physician interpretation. The role includes active participation in on-call emergency coverage and ensuring timely workflow to the workstation and film outputs.

The candidate must have completed an accredited Nuclear Medicine program, hold a NY license, and be ARRT and/or NMTCB certified; prior nuclear medicine experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Current NYS license as Nuclear Medicine Technologist.
• ARRT and/or NMTCB certification required.
• Previous nuclear medicine experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Enters patient history data and requisition information into the system.
• Performs Nuclear Medicine exams according to established standards.
• Labels images and maintains required records.
• Completes necessary record-keeping and participates in on-call emergencies.

Operates Nuclear Medicine apparatus and auxiliary equipment. Produces diagnostic scans and outputs to film/workstation for physician interpretation. Participates and has responsibility for emergency on call.

Job Responsibility

• Performs thorough screening of patients prior to procedure.
• Prepares patients for examination.
• Explains procedure and sets up equipment to administer mammogram procedure in a timely fashion.
• Enters patient history data and other pertinent information obtained from requisition completed by the Radiologist.
• Performs various Nuclear Medicine exams according to established standards, procedures and procedures of the division.
• Labels images for identification and maintains required records.
• Completes necessary record-keeping.

Job Qualification

• Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Program, required.
• Current New York State License as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, required.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT) and/or certified by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), required.
• Previous nuclear medicine technology experience, preferred.
